Jacksonville.com

Online night editor
Oct. 2005 - April 2007
Core responsibilities were to repurpose print content for Web use on Jacksonville.com, the online arm of The Florida Times-Union, and keep the home page updated with breaking news concerning Florida's First Coast.

Other responsibilities included:
» Leading online's move to an automated content management system. Worked with corporate representatives on all technical issues of the system, and worked with the newsroom to change DT 5.5 workflows to accomodate the CMS. Trained every editorial department employee on how the CMS works.
» Regularly updating the site's Public Safety and Legislature channels -- both of which I designed.
» Serve as online's point person with the newsroom during the 2006 and 2007 elections cycles.
» Working as a member of the Times-Union's convergence team, which included regular stand-ups on the 11 p.m. broadcast of First Coast News and acting as a substitute for the team's daily radio broadcast spot.
» Overseeing interns who produced 10 community sections.
» Podcasting with columnist Tonyaa Weathersbee and with Times-Union capital bureau chief J.T. Rushing during the legislative session.

Work Samples
» In the Pipeline
» Rebuilding New Orleans’ sound
» The Real Sandalwood
» Crime and Public Safety
» Trek through Guyana
» Florida Legislative Session
